We are pleased to spotlight Nancy Cheung, our meticulous Accounting & HR Manager at Banner Environmental. Since 2021, Nancy has managed a range of critical operations, including payroll, monthly AIA billing, corporate card expense accounts, and special projects. In her HR role, she handles onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and HR-related issues. Nancy appreciates Banner’s proactive approach to continuous learning and exploration, lauding the company’s supportive atmosphere.
Initially finding her professional footing in finance, Nancy’s career path was shaped by her first manager at Liberty Mutual, Richard, who encouraged her to pursue further accounting studies. A testament to her patience and communication skills, she overcame the challenges of interacting with field supervisors and crew during payroll processes by connecting with them on a personal level. She advises those starting in environmental services to ask questions, respect their colleagues, and value communication as the cornerstone of job success.
Beyond the professional sphere, Nancy takes immense pride in raising two smart, loving, and caring children. An avid reader with a penchant for psychological thrillers and historical fictions, she also enjoys working out and traveling. One of her major bucket list goals is to live in a small European town for a few years and teach a boot camp class. The locals might not know what’s hit them when Nancy’s international boot camp class has them trading baguettes and pasta for dumbbells and push-ups!
